Chief school officers to provide information on postsecondaryfinancial assistance.

167.278. The superintendent of schools or other chiefschool officer of each local public school district and thechief school officer of any nonpublic school shall makeavailable to pupils and their parents information about thevarious types of financial assistance available to pursue apostsecondary education at a degree-granting institution. Thecommissioner of higher education shall assist such efforts bymaking available to schools and pupils information relating tosuch programs and assistance. In addition, the commissioner incooperation with the state board of education shall provide suchother information as is appropriate to encourage pupils tocomplete high school and to assist pupils in preparing to entera postsecondary degree program.
