Duties of the secretary--compensation.

174.190. The secretary of each board shall keep and preserveall records, books and papers belonging to the board. He shallkeep a journal of the proceedings of the board, in which the ayesand noes on all questions shall be entered, if requested by anyone member of the board. He shall prepare, under the directionof the board, all reports and estimates, and do and execute allsuch matters and things as belong to his office. Annually, inthe month of August, he shall transmit to the department ofhigher education the names of all those receiving diplomas withresidences and dates of issue. The compensation of the secretaryshall be fixed by the board, and shall in no case exceed fiftydollars per annum.
