Police officers to take oath and be issued certificate ofappointment--powers of arrest and other powers--training orexperience requirements.

174.703. The college or university police officers, beforethey enter upon their duties, shall take and subscribe an oath ofoffice before some officer authorized to administer oaths, tofaithfully and impartially discharge the duties thereof, whichoath shall be filed in the office of the board, and the secretaryof the board shall give each college police officer so appointedand qualified a certificate of appointment, under the seal of theboard, which certificate shall empower him or her with the sameauthority to maintain order, preserve peace and make arrests asis now held by peace officers. The college or university policeofficer may in addition expel from the public buildings,campuses, and grounds, persons violating the rules andregulations that may be prescribed by the board or others underthe authority of the board. Such officer or employee of thestate college or university as may be designated by the boardshall have immediate charge, control and supervision of policeofficers appointed by authority of this section. Such college oruniversity police officers shall have satisfactorily completedbefore appointment a training course for police officers asprescribed by chapter 590, RSMo, for state peace officers or, byvirtue of previous experience or training, have met therequirements of chapter 590, RSMo.
