St. Louis science center--increase in tax rate, procedure--ballotform.

184.351. 1. The board of directors of any metropolitanzoological park and museum district, as established pursuant tothe provisions of sections 184.350 to 184.384, on behalf of thedistrict may request the election officials of any city andcounty containing all or part of such district to submit aproposition to increase the maximum tax rate for the St. LouisScience Center subdistrict set in section 184.350, to thequalified voters of such district at any general or primary orspecial election. Such election officials shall give legalnotice as provided in chapter 115, RSMo.

2. Such proposition shall be submitted to the voters insubstantially the following form at such election:

Shall the Zoological Park and Museum District of the City of. . . . . . . . . and County of . . . . . . . . be authorized toincrease the St. Louis Science Center Subdistrict to a tax ratenot in excess of six cents on each $100 of assessed valuation oftaxable property within the district for the purpose ofoperating, maintaining and otherwise financially supporting thesubdistrict? The tax rate shall be set annually by the boardbased on the budget submitted by the St. Louis Science Center andapproved by the board. This rate shall replace the present taxrate of . . . . . cent for the St. Louis Science CenterSubdistrict.

3. In the event that a majority of the voters voting onsuch proposition in such city and the majority of voters votingon such proposition in such county at such election cast votes"YES" for the proposition, then the tax rate for such subdistrictshall be deemed in full force and effect as of the first day ofthe second month following the election. The results of theaforesaid election shall be certified by the election officialsof such city and county, respectively, to the respective chiefexecutive officers of such city and county not less than thirtydays after the day on which such election was held. All costs ofthe election shall be paid as provided by sections 115.063 and115.065, RSMo. In the event the proposition shall fail toreceive a majority of the votes "YES" in either the city or thecounty, then such proposition shall not be resubmitted at anyelection held within one year of the date of the election atwhich such proposition was rejected.
