209.323. 1. Applications for licensure as an interpreter shall besubmitted to the division on forms prescribed by the division and furnishedto the applicant. The application shall contain the applicant's statementsshowing the applicant's education, certification by either the NationalRegistry of Interpreters for the Deaf, National Association of the Deaf orMissouri Interpreter Certification System and such other information as thedivision may require. Each application shall contain a statement that itis made under oath or affirmation and that the information contained in theapplication is true and correct to the best knowledge and belief of theapplicant, subject to the penalties, as provided in sections 209.319 to209.339, for the making of a false affidavit or declaration. Eachapplication shall be accompanied by the required application fee. Theapplication fee must be submitted in a manner as required by the committeeand shall not be refundable. The applicant must be eighteen years of ageor older.

2. Each license issued pursuant to the provisions of sections 209.319to 209.339 shall expire on the renewal date. The division shall mail arenewal notice to the last known address of each licensee prior to thelicense renewal date. The license will expire and renewal may be deniedupon failure of the licensee to provide the division with the informationrequired for renewal including but not limited to satisfactory evidence ofcurrent certification or to pay the required renewal fee within sixty daysof the license renewal date. The license may be reinstated within twoyears after the renewal date, if the applicant applies for reinstatementand pays the required license renewal fee plus a delinquency fee asestablished by the committee and provides evidence of currentcertification.

3. Except as provided in section 209.321, the committee withassistance from the division shall issue or renew a license to each personwho files an application and fee as required by the provisions of sections209.319 to 209.339 and who furnishes satisfactory evidence to the committeethat he has complied with the provisions of subsection 1 or 2 of thissection.

4. The committee may issue a new license to replace any license whichis lost, destroyed or mutilated upon payment of a fee as provided by thecommittee.
