Advisory board, created, members, appointment,qualifications--duties--compensation.

217.555. 1. There is hereby created and established an"Advisory Board of Vocational Enterprises Program" consisting ofthe director of the division of offender rehabilitative servicesor his designee, who shall serve as chairman, the vocationalenterprises administrator and three members representingorganized labor and three members representing manufacturinginterests, one member who is qualified by education andexperience in criminology, and one member who is qualified byeducation and experience in vocational rehabilitation. Thepublic board members shall be appointed by the departmentdirector for a term of four years, with appointments to thisboard made so that two members' terms expire each year. Thecommissioner of administration or his designee, and the governoror his designee, shall serve as ex officio members of the board.

2. The board shall meet at least quarterly at the call ofthe chairman.

3. The board shall provide the director advice and counselon proper planning and programs for the vocational enterprisesprogram within the department and shall make recommendationsconcerning the services to be provided and the articlesmanufactured, including style, design, and quality, as well asfor economy and efficiency in their manufacture. New industriesand agribusiness operations may be established or terminated atthe discretion of the director.

4. The members of the board, other than the chairman, andex officio members, shall receive compensation at the rate of onehundred dollars plus all actual and necessary expenses for eachday they are engaged in the discharge of their official duties.
