Ferryman protected against interference by steamboats.

237.200. If the master or commander of any steamboat shallland at the platform or known landing place of any public ferry,and shall intentionally obstruct the passage of any ferryboat, ormoor or unload against, over or upon the same, without theconsent of the owner of such ferry, such master or owner of suchsteamboat shall forfeit and pay to the legal possessor of suchferry landing fifty dollars for each offense, to be recovered bycivil action before an associate circuit judge, and shall beliable to an action for damages, to be recovered before any courthaving competent jurisdiction.
