242.335. Drainage districts organized or incorporated underthis chapter may contract with each other, and with any politicalsubdivision of this or any other state, and with districtsorganized or incorporated under any other law of this state orunder the laws of any other state, for such outlets as the onemay need and the other can furnish on such terms as may be deemedto be just and fair. The cost of obtaining the outlets shall bepaid for as are other expenses of the district or politicalsubdivision for making improvements. If the districts ordistrict and political subdivision cannot agree upon thecompensation to be paid for the outlet, the district supplyingthe outlet, by action in the circuit court of the county whereinthe district or political subdivision for which the outlet issupplied is organized or located, may recover from the districtor political subdivision fair and just compensation for supplyingthe outlet. Any compensation received by the district shall beapplied to improving its ditches or levees or reducing taxationor indebtedness.
