Election on question of dissolution--effect--procedure if questionapproved.

247.630. 1. If the court shall find that it is to the bestinterest of the inhabitants of said district that such districtbe dissolved, it shall make an order reciting the same andproviding for the submission of the question to the voters of thedistrict.

2. Such election may be held only on municipal electiondays. Returns of said election shall be canvassed and certifiedto the court.

3. If the court finds that two-thirds of the voters votingthereon shall have voted in favor of the question to dissolvesaid district, the court shall make a final order dissolving saiddistrict, and the decree shall contain a proviso that saiddistrict shall continue in full force for the purpose of payingall outstanding and lawful obligations and disposing of propertyof the district; but no additional costs or obligations shall becreated except such as are necessary to pay such costs,obligations and liabilities theretofore incurred, or necessary tothe winding up of the district.

4. If the court shall find that two-thirds of the voters ofthe district voting thereon shall not have voted favorably on thequestion to dissolve such district, then the court shall make afinal order declaring such result dismissing the petition prayingfor the dissolution of said district; and the said district shallcontinue to operate in the same manner as though said petitionasking for such dissolution had not been filed.
