250.230. When determined by its governing body to be in thepublic interest and necessary for the protection of the publichealth, any municipality is authorized to enter into and performcontracts, whether long-term or short-term, with any industrialestablishment for the provision and operation by the municipalityof sewerage facilities to abate or reduce the pollution of waterscaused by discharges of industrial wastes by the industrialestablishment and the payment periodically by the industrialestablishment to the municipality of amounts at least sufficient,in the determination of such governing body, to compensate themunicipality for the cost of providing (including payment ofprincipal and interest charges, if any), and of operating andmaintaining the sewerage facilities serving such industrialestablishment.
