Profiting by officer from district contracts or moneys,penalty--liability.

257.430. The making of profit, directly or indirectly, byany officer of any district organized under this chapter, or byany other public officer within the state, out of any contractsentered into by the district, or the use of any money belongingto a district by loaning it or otherwise using it, or bydepositing the same in any manner, contrary to law, or by removalof any money by any officer or by his consent and placing itelsewhere than is prescribed either by law or by the officialacts of the board of trustees, for the purpose of profit,constitutes a felony, punishable by imprisonment for a term notexceeding two years, or a fine not exceeding five thousanddollars, or both fine and imprisonment; and the officer offendingshall be liable personally and upon his official bond for alllosses to the district and for all profits realized by suchunlawful use of moneys.
