License annually required to operate animal boarding facilities, petshops, pounds, dealers and commercial breeders--fees, exemption fromfees for certain licensees.
273.327. No person shall operate an animal shelter, poundor dog pound, boarding kennel, commercial kennel, contractkennel, pet shop, or exhibition facility, other than a limitedshow or exhibit, or act as a dealer or commercial breeder, unlesshe has obtained a license for such operations from the director.An applicant shall obtain a separate license for each separatephysical facility subject to sections 273.325 to 273.357 which isoperated by the applicant. Any person exempt from the licensingrequirements of sections 273.325 to 273.357 may voluntarily applyfor a license. Application for such license shall be made in themanner provided by the director. The license shall expireannually unless revoked. As provided by rules to be promulgatedby the director, the license fee shall range from one hundred tofive hundred dollars per year. Pounds, dog pounds and animalshelters shall be exempt from payment of such fee. License feesshall be levied for each license issued or renewed on or afterJanuary 1, 1993.
