Records to state veterinarian, when.

276.615. 1. If the state veterinarian has reasonable causeto believe any livestock in this state are diseased in such amanner as to constitute a health hazard to other livestock,wherever located, he may request in writing the livestock salesrecords of any livestock dealer in this state for the purpose oftracing or discovering the diseased livestock, the source of thedisease and all other livestock which may be affected by thedisease. A livestock dealer shall have twenty-four hours tocomply with such a request.

2. The state veterinarian may inspect, acquire and use suchrecords only for the detection and eradication of disease and forno other purpose.
