Late renewal of license, penalty, reexamination, when--director toprovide guideline book, fee for book.

281.055. 1. If the application for renewal of any license,certification or permit provided for in this chapter is not filedprior to expiration date in any year, a penalty of twenty-fivepercent shall be assessed and added to the original fee and shallbe paid by the applicant before the license, certification orpermit shall be renewed; provided, that such penalty shall notapply if the applicant furnishes an affidavit certifying that hehas not engaged in the business subsequent to the expiration ofhis license, certification or permit. Any person holding acurrent valid license, certification or permit may renew thelicense, certification or permit for the next year without takinganother examination unless the director determines thatadditional knowledge related to classifications for which theapplicant has applied makes a new examination necessary.However, if the license is not renewed within sixty daysfollowing the date of expiration then the licensee shall berequired to satisfy all the requirements of licensure as if suchperson was never licensed.

2. The director may promulgate reasonable regulationsrequiring additional training and instruction on the part of anyapplicant for a license issued under sections 281.010 to 281.115.

3. The director shall have prepared for prospectivelicensee's use, a book of guidelines of factual necessaryinformation related to the requirements of sections 281.010 to281.115. A reasonable fee may be collected for said publication.
