Seventy-two-hour permits--fee.

301.267. 1. The owner of any motor vehicle, or in the eventthe motor vehicle is legally operated by someone other than theowner, then the operator thereof, may obtain the permits requiredby sections 142.422, 301.265 and 390.136, RSMo, from the Missourihighway reciprocity commission. The commission shall issue asingle permit authorizing the operation of such vehicle on thehighways of this state for a period of not to exceed seventy-twohours. The fee for such trip permit shall be twenty-five dollarsand shall be collected by the department of revenue and depositedwith the state treasurer to the credit of the state highwaydepartment fund except when an agreement has been negotiated withanother jurisdiction whereby prepayment is not required. In suchcases, the terms of agreement shall prevail.

2. The requirements of sections 142.422, 301.265, and390.136, RSMo, concerning trip permits shall apply to theoperation of the vehicle under this section.
