Nurse training incentive fund--grants--amounts.

335.206. 1. The nurse training incentive fund shall, uponappropriation, be used to provide incentive grants to eligiblenursing programs which increase enrollment. Grants shall not beawarded to classes begun on or after July 1, 1996.

2. Grants shall be awarded to eligible nursing programswhich increase enrollment pursuant to subsection 3 of thissection. Eligible programs receiving grants provided undersections 335.200 to 335.209 shall monitor the enrollment ofnontraditional students in their program and shall annuallyreport to the board the number of nontraditional studentsenrolled therein. It shall be the intent of sections 335.200 to335.209 to encourage the enrollment and graduation ofnontraditional students in nursing education programs.

3. Incentive grants shall be awarded to professional nurseeducation programs, as follows:

(1) A grant of eight thousand dollars for each enteringclass of ten students by which the program increases itsenrollment over the number of entering students admitted in thefall of 1989; and

(2) A grant of four hundred dollars for each student fromeach entering class cited in subdivision (1) of this section bywhich the program increases its number of graduates over thenumber of students graduated in the preceding year; or

(3) Beginning with the first graduating class of theclasses which enter and are enrolled after August 28, 1990, agrant of four hundred dollars for each student by which theprogram increases its number of graduates over the number ofgraduates of the preceding year, if the program is not otherwisequalified to receive the grant provided pursuant to subdivision(1) of this section.
