Registration fee, technician--examination fee--consequences offailure.

340.302. 1. The applicant for registration as a veterinarytechnician shall submit with the application the registration andexamination fees as established by board rule pursuant to section 340.210.The registration fee shall not be returned if the applicant is registeredas a veterinary technician but shall be deemed to include payment of theregistration fee for the remainder of the registration period in which theapplicant is admitted.

2. If the applicant has complied with the requirements of subsection2 of section 340.312, the examination fee shall be returned to theapplicant if the board determines that the applicant is not qualified tosit for the examination. The examination fee shall not be returned if theboard denied the application because the applicant provided falseinformation in the application.

3. If an applicant fails an examination, the applicant shall:

(1) Pay examination fees for each subsequent application;

(2) Wait for some period of time as prescribed by board rule from thedate of the failed examination to take the next examination; and

(3) Prior to the fourth and final attempt at passage, present to theboard, for approval, a plan for passage and evidence of completion of atleast ten hours of board-approved continuing education taken since the lastexamination since last sitting for the examination or in the calendar yearpreceding the final application.
