Qualifications of applicants for master plumber's license.

341.170. 1. Applicants for a master plumber's license shallbe at least twenty-five years of age and shall have had threeyears or more experience as a licensed journeyman plumbertheretofore licensed by any county or city operating underplumbing laws or regulations equal to the requirements ofsections 341.090 to 341.220. The applicant shall possess theability to direct other persons in the installation of plumbingand drainage and shall be skilled in planning, designing andinstalling plumbing and drainage facilities and shall have athorough knowledge of the accepted standards, principles and artof plumbing for the protection of the public health.

2. An applicant for a license as a journeyman plumber shallbe at least twenty-one years of age and shall have had at leastfive years' experience as an apprentice under the direction andsupervision of a master plumber licensed under the provisions ofsections 341.090 to 341.220 or a master plumber licensed underthe plumbing laws and regulations of any county or city operatingunder laws or regulations equal to the requirements of sections341.090 to 341.220. He shall have a practical knowledge ofplumbing and shall be skilled in the art of installing plumbingand drainage facilities and shall have knowledge of the acceptedstandards and principles of plumbing and sewer or drainagefacilities for the protection of the public health.

3. An applicant for a master drainlayer's license shall beat least twenty-five years of age and shall have had three years'or more experience as a licensed journeyman drainlayertheretofore licensed by any county or city operating underplumbing laws or regulations equal to the requirements ofsections 341.090 to 341.220. The applicant shall possess theability to direct other persons in the installation of drains andsewers and shall be skilled in planning, designing and installingsewer and drain facilities and shall have a thorough practicalknowledge of the accepted standards, principles and art ofdrainlaying for the protection of the public health.

4. An applicant for a journeyman drainlayer's license shallhave worked at drainlaying under the supervision of a licensedmaster plumber or master drainlayer for a period of at least oneyear and shall possess a knowledge of drainlaying and the abilityto lay drains and shall have a thorough understanding of sewerand drain installation and shall have the ability to install alltypes of sewers and drains conformable with standard engineeringprinciples and specifications.

5. Any licensed master plumber or journeyman plumberdesirous of engaging in the business of drainlaying shall securea drainlayer's license and no master plumber or journeymanplumber shall engage in the business of drainlaying without firstsecuring a drainlayer's license.
