351.380. 1. The registered agent so appointed by acorporation shall be an agent of such corporation upon whom anyprocess, notice, or demand required or permitted by law to beserved upon a corporation may be served. In the event that acorporation shall fail to appoint or maintain a registered agentin this state, then the secretary of state as long as suchdefault exists shall be automatically appointed as an agent ofsuch corporation upon whom any process, notice, or demandrequired or permitted by law to be served upon the corporationmay be served. Service on the secretary of state of any process,notice or demand against a corporation shall be made bydelivering to and leaving with him, or with any clerk havingcharge of the corporation department of his office, a copy ofsuch process, notice or demand. In the event that any process,notice, or demand is served on the secretary of state, he shallimmediately cause a copy thereof to be forwarded by registeredmail, addressed to the corporation at its registered office inthis state.

2. Nothing herein contained shall limit or affect the rightto serve any process, notice, or demand required or permitted bylaw to be served upon a corporation in any other manner now orhereafter permitted by law.

3. The secretary of state shall keep a record of allprocesses, notices, and demands served upon him under thissection, and shall record therein the time of such service andhis action with reference thereto.
