Health services corporation contracts, purposes, parties to.

354.090. 1. A corporation subject to the provisions ofsections 354.010 to 354.380 may enter into contracts for therendering of hospital services, medical-surgical services andother health services on behalf of its members or beneficiarieswith hospitals maintained by any governmental body or agency, ormaintained by a nonprofit corporation organized for hospitalpurposes, or with other corporations, organizations,associations, partnerships or individuals furnishing hospitalservices, medical-surgical services, or other health services.Any health services corporation may enter into agreements orcontracts with other organizations or corporations licensed to dobusiness in this state or in any other state for the transfer ofmembers or beneficiaries, for the reciprocal joint provisions ofbenefits to the members or beneficiaries of the corporation andof such other organizations or corporations, or for such otherjoint undertakings as the corporation's board of directors mayapprove.

2. In lieu of direct payment from an insured for goods orservices furnished, a pharmacist may take an assignment of suchinsured's right to reimbursement for those goods or servicesprovided to a member of a health services corporation. No healthservices corporation may refuse to pay the pharmacist any paymentdue the insured under the terms of the policy or contract.
