Right-of-way--how secured.

388.370. Any railroad company in this state shall have theright to take and hold all necessary ground for right-of-way forthe extensions and branch railroads authorized to be constructedas aforesaid and for depots and sidetracks and other necessarypurposes, and if the title thereof cannot be secured by agreementwith the owners thereof, or if from any other cause the titlecannot be secured, such company may proceed to condemn the samein the same manner and with the same effect as is now provided bylaw for the condemnation of other lands.
