411.295. The director shall have power in the conduct of anyinvestigation or hearing authorized or held by him to examine, orcause to be examined, under oath, any person, and to examine, orcause to be examined, books and records of any warehouseman; tohear testimony and take proof material for his information in thedischarge of his duties under this chapter; to administer orcause to be administered oaths; and for any such purposes toissue subpoenas, to require the attendance of witnesses and theproduction of books which shall be effective in any part of thisstate; and any circuit court may, by order duly entered, requirethe attendance of witnesses and the production of relevant booksand records subpoenaed by the director, and the court may compelobedience to its order by proceedings for contempt.
