Duplicate copies to be made and preserved.

432.080. In every case of contract entered into by anycounty, city, town, village, school township, school district orother municipal corporation, or by any officer or agent on theirbehalf, duplicate copies of the same shall be executed as aboveprovided, one of which shall be filed in the office of the clerkof the county commission of the proper county, or in such officeor with such officer of the city, town, village, school township,school district or other municipal corporation as may be chargedwith the keeping of the contracts thereof, and shall not be takenthence except to be used for the purposes of evidence in somelegal matter or cause; and in case of variance between suchcopies, the one on file shall control in the construction of thecontract.
