Payment of one or more notes, how canceled--memorandum onrecord--affidavit required, content, to be presented to recorder.

443.100. In cases where a number of notes are named in anysecurity instrument which was recorded prior to January 1, 1986,on payment of any one or more of such notes, the maker thereofmay make affidavit as to such payment, which such affidavit shallrefer to the security instrument by book and page of record andcontain a description of the land encumbered thereby and shallpresent the same along with the note or notes to the recorder,and the recorder shall cancel the notes and make a memorandum ofsuch presentation and cancellation on the margin of theaffidavit, which shall then be filed for record.
