483.246. The selection, tenure and compensation of municipalclerks shall be as provided by the municipality involved;provided, however, that the compensation of municipal clerksshall not be predicated upon the amount of fines levied or thenumber of guilty pleas or adjudications of guilt in causesprocessed through the municipal divisions or the trafficviolations bureaus which they serve.
