Clerk to employ attorney (St. Louis City).

483.260. The clerk of the circuit court of the city of St.Louis may employ an attorney or attorneys to aid and advise himin the discharge of his duties, to render independent legaladvice and services and to represent him in court. The attorneysemployed by the clerk shall receive in the aggregate ascompensation for their services twenty-five thousand dollars perannum, payable out of the state treasury in installments ascertified by the circuit clerk.
