508.072. 1. Civil and criminal suits against issuers ofchecks payable to the Missouri department of revenue which arereturned because of insufficient funds or no account shall becommenced in either the county where the defendant resides or inthe county wherein the seat of state government is found providedany such issuer shall be given thirty days to make any such checkgood before any action is commenced in a county other than thatof the residence of the issuer.
2. Notice of this election of venue statute shall be givento all persons who write a check payable to the Missouridepartment of revenue which is returned for insufficient funds orno account prior to commencement of legal proceedings on thecheck.
