Procedure before associate circuit judge.
544.270. The associate circuit judge before whom any suchperson shall be brought shall proceed, as soon as may be, toexamine the complainant and witnesses produced in support of theprosecution, on oath, in the presence of the prisoner, in regardto the offense charged, and other matters connected with suchcharge which such associate circuit judge may deem pertinent.
