Elder abuse in the first degree--penalty.

565.180. 1. A person commits the crime of elder abuse inthe first degree if he attempts to kill, knowingly causes orattempts to cause serious physical injury, as defined in section565.002, to any person sixty years of age or older or an eligibleadult as defined in section 660.250, RSMo.

2. Elder abuse in the first degree is a class A felony.
