Swimming pools, use of life jackets, definitions.

577.160. 1. As used in sections 577.160 and 577.161, thefollowing words mean:

(1) "Swimming pool", any artificial basin of water which ismodified, improved, constructed or installed for the purpose ofpublic swimming, and includes: pools for community use, pools atapartments, condominiums, and other groups of associations havingfive or more living units, clubs, churches, camps, schools,institutions, Y.M.C.A. and Y.W.C.A. parks, recreational areas,motels, hotels and other commercial establishments. It does notinclude pools at private residences intended only for the use ofthe owner or guests;

(2) "Person", any individual, group of individuals,association, trust, partnership, corporation, person doingbusiness under an assumed name, county, municipality, the stateof Missouri, or any political subdivision or department thereof,or any other entity;

(3) "Life jacket", a life jacket, life vest or any otherflotation device designed to be worn about the body to assist inmaintaining buoyancy in water.
