Definitions.

620.1000. As used in sections 620.1000 to 620.1007,the following terms mean:

(1) "Department", the Missouri department of economicdevelopment;

(2) "Director", the director of the Missouri smallbusiness development centers program that is an employee ofthe host entity and approved by the United States SmallBusiness Administration;

(3) "Fund", the Missouri small business developmentcenters fund that is created in section 620.1001;

(4) "Host entity", the educational institution that isselected by the United States Small Business Administrationto host the small business development centers program andto serve as the lead center for the state of Missouri;

(5) "Matching basis", the requirement that at leastone matching dollar of cash or at least one dollar in-kindmust be expended directly or indirectly for every statedollar;

(6) "Missouri small business development centersprogram", the small business development centers program forthe state of Missouri, including the lead center at the hostentity which is selected by the United States Small BusinessAdministration and all of the regional centers;

(7) "Small business", a business that satisfies theeligibility criteria for assistance by the United StatesSmall Business Administration under title 13 of the Code ofFederal Regulations, and has its place of business in thestate of Missouri or seeks to establish business inMissouri.
