Governing board for project, members, terms, duties.

632.555. 1. There is hereby established within thedepartment of mental health a "Governing Board" for thedemonstration project established pursuant to section 632.553.The board shall be composed of seven members who are residents ofthe county selected for the demonstration project. Such membersshall be appointed by the director of the department of mentalhealth with the advice and consent of the state mental healthcommission.

2. Board members shall serve for the three-year duration ofthe demonstration project. The board members shall receive nocompensation, but shall be reimbursed for necessary expenses inthe performance of their duties.

3. The board shall be responsible for the directimplementation of the demonstration project and shall monitor anddirect the treatment of the severely emotionally disturbedchildren within the project, evaluating the treatmenteffectiveness and the cost effectiveness of the program. Theboard shall make quarterly reports to the department of mentalhealth regarding such effectiveness of treatment and costbenefit.

4. The department shall provide clerical and administrativesupport to the board.
