891 - Advisory council.

* § 891. Advisory  council.  1.  There shall be an advisory council in  the office consisting of the secretary to the governor  ex  officio  and  six  appointive members. The appointive members shall include one member  each appointed by the governor on the recommendation  of  the  temporary  president  of  the senate and the speaker of the assembly and four other  members  representative  of  business-related  interests  in  the  state  appointed  by  the  governor.  The  governor  shall designate one of the  appointive members as chairman and one as vice-chairman of the  advisory  council.  The  director  shall  not  serve  as  a member of the advisory  council but shall serve as secretary to the council.    2. The appointive members shall serve for terms of three  years  each.  Vacancies  shall be filled in the manner of original appointment for the  unexpired terms. Members  of  the  advisory  council  shall  receive  no  compensation for their services but shall be reimbursed for all expenses  actually  and  necessarily  incurred  by  them  in  performance of their  duties. The advisory council shall meet not less than quarterly in  each  year. Special meetings may be held at the call of the chairman.    3.  The  advisory  council shall have the power to consider any matter  relating to the services of the office and advise the director on office  policies, goals, and operation. The council may also:    (a) assist in establishing policy guidelines for the  conduct  of  the  office;    (b) review and comment on proposed rules and regulations of the office  prior to their adoption; and    (c)  submit recommendations to the governor and the legislature at any  time for the improvement, modification, or extension of the  service  of  the office and for actions designed to eliminate, consolidate, simplify,  or expedite permit procedures of state agencies.    * NB Authority of office terminated per § 893 December 31, 1995
