§1‑348.  Payment made to court; land sold on default.

The payment must be made tothe plaintiff, or into court for his use, and the land is bound therefor, andif the defendant fails to make the payment within or at the times limitedtherefor, the court may order the land sold and the proceeds applied to thepayment of said value and interest, and any surplus to be paid to thedefendant; but if the net proceeds are insufficient to satisfy the said valueand interest, the defendant is not bound for the deficiency.
