§ 110‑133. Agreements of support.

In lieu of or in conclusion of any legal proceeding instituted toobtain support from a responsible parent for a dependent child born of themarriage, a written agreement to support the child by periodic paymentsexecuted by the responsible parent when acknowledged before a certifyingofficer or notary public or the equivalent or corresponding person of thestate, territory, or foreign country where the acknowledgment is made and filedwith and approved by a judge of the district court in the county where thecustodial parent of the child resides or is found, or in the county where thenoncustodial parent resides or is found, or in the county where the childresides or is found shall have the same force and effect, retroactively andprospectively, in accordance with the terms of the agreement, as an order ofsupport entered by the court, and shall be enforceable and subject tomodification in the same manner as is provided by law for orders of the courtin such cases. A responsible parent executing a written agreement under thissection shall provide on the agreement the responsible parent's social securitynumber.
