§ 113‑60.30. Effect on other laws.

This Article shall not be construed as affecting or abridging thelawful authority of local governments to pass ordinances relating to openburning within their boundaries. Nothing in this Article shall relieve anyperson from compliance with the provisions of Article 21B of Chapter 143 of theGeneral Statutes and regulations adopted thereunder. In the event that permitsare required for open burning associated with land clearing under the authorityof Article 21B of Chapter 143 of the General Statutes, the authority to issuesuch permits shall be delegated to forest rangers who are authorized to issuepermits under G.S. 113‑60.23(c).
