§ 114‑10.02. Collectionof statistics on the use of deadly force by law enforcement officers.
(a) In addition to theduties set forth in G.S. 114‑10, the Division of Criminal Statisticsshall collect, maintain, and annually publish the number of deaths, by lawenforcement agency, resulting from the use of deadly force by law enforcementofficers in the course and scope of their official duties.
(b) For purposes ofthis section, "law enforcement officer" means sworn law enforcementofficers with the power of arrest, both State and local. (2009‑106, s. 1.)
