§122C‑302.  Cities and counties may employ officers to assist intoxicatedindividuals.

A city or county may employofficers to assist individuals who are intoxicated in public. Officers employedfor this purpose shall be trained to give assistance to those who areintoxicated in public including the administration of first aid. An officeremployed by a city or county to assist intoxicated individuals has the powersand duties set out in G.S. 122C‑301 within the same territory in whichcriminal laws are enforced by law‑enforcement officers of that city orcounty.
