§14‑111.1.  Obtaining ambulance services without intending to pay therefor– Buncombe, Haywood and Madison Counties.

Any person who with the intentto defraud shall obtain ambulance services for himself or other persons withoutintending at the time of obtaining such services to pay a reasonable chargetherefor, shall be guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor. If a person or personsobtaining such services willfully fails to pay for the services within a periodof 90 days after request for payment, such failure shall raise a presumptionthat the services were obtained with the intention to defraud, and with theintention not to pay therefor.
