§ 45‑36.17. Affidavitof satisfaction: form.
No particular phrasing of anaffidavit of satisfaction is required. The following form of affidavit, whenproperly completed, is sufficient to satisfy the requirements of G.S. 45‑36.16:

The undersigned hereby states asfollows:
1. I am an attorneylicensed to practice law in the State of North Carolina.
2. I am signing thisAffidavit of Satisfaction to evidence full payment or performance of the obligationssecured by real property covered by the following security instrument (the"security instrument") currently held by ______ (the "securedcreditor"):

3. I have reasonablegrounds to believe that the secured creditor has received full payment orperformance of the balance of the obligations secured by the securityinstrument.

With theauthorization of the owner of the real property described in the securityinstrument, I gave notification to the secured creditor by method authorized byG.S. 45‑36.5 that provides proof of receipt that I would sign and recordan affidavit of satisfaction of the security instrument if, within 30 daysafter the effective date of the notification, the secured creditor did notsubmit a satisfaction of the security interest for recording or givenotification that the secured obligation remains unsatisfied.
