§58‑24‑5.  Lodge system.

(a)        A society isoperating on the lodge system if it has a supreme governing body andsubordinate lodges into which members are elected, initiated or admitted inaccordance with its laws, rules and ritual.  Subordinate lodges shall berequired by the laws of the society to hold regular meetings periodically infutherance of the purposes of the society.

(b)        A society may, atits option, organize and operate lodges for children under the minimum age foradult membership.  Membership and initiation in local lodges shall not berequired of such children, nor shall they have a voice or vote in themanagement of the society. (1987, c. 483, s. 2.)
