3314.087 Community school student may enroll in career-technical program.

(A) As used in this section:

(1) “Career-technical program” means vocational programs or classes described in division (A) or (B) of section 3317.014 of the Revised Code in which a student is enrolled.

(2)”Formula ADM,” “category one or two vocational education ADM,” and “FTE basis” have the same meanings as in section 3317.02 of the Revised Code.

(3)”Resident school district” means the city, exempted village, or local school district in which a student is entitled to attend school under section 3313.64 or 3313.65 of the Revised Code.

(B) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this chapter or Chapter 3306. or 3317. of the Revised Code, a student enrolled in a community school may simultaneously enroll in the career-technical program operated by the student’s resident school district. On an FTE basis, the student’s resident school district shall count the student in the category one or two vocational education ADM for the proportion of the time the student is enrolled in the district’s career-technical program and, accordingly, the department of education shall calculate funds under Chapters 3306. and 3317. for the district attributable to the student for the proportion of time the student attends the career-technical program. The community school shall count the student in its enrollment report under section 3314.08 of the Revised Code and shall report to the department the proportion of time that the student attends classes at the community school. The department shall pay the community school and deduct from the student’s resident school district the amount computed for the student under section 3314.08 of the Revised Code in proportion to the fraction of the time on an FTE basis that the student attends classes at the community school. “Full-time equivalency” for a community school student, as defined in division (L) of section 3314.08 of the Revised Code, does not apply to the student.
