5537.27 Application by political subdivisions or government agencies for projects.
The Ohio turnpike commission, the director of transportation or the director’s designee, and another person designated by the governor shall establish a procedure whereby a political subdivision or other government agency or agencies may submit a written application to the commission, requesting the commission to construct and operate a project within the boundaries of the subdivision, agency, or agencies making the request. The procedure shall include a requirement that the commission send a written reply to the subdivision, agency, or agencies, explaining the disposition of the request. The procedure established pursuant to this section shall not become effective unless it is approved by the commission and by the director or the director’s designee and the designee of the governor, and shall require submission of the proposed project to the turnpike legislative review committee if the project must be approved by the governor.
