4106 - State standards of weight and measure.

     § 4106.  State standards of weight and measure.        Such weights and measures in conformity with the standards of     the United States as have been supplied to the Commonwealth by     the Federal Government or otherwise obtained by the Commonwealth     for use as State standards shall, when the same have been     certified as being satisfactory for use as such by the National     Institute of Standards and Technology, be the State standards of     weight and measure. The State standards shall be kept in a safe     and suitable place in the State Metrology Laboratory, shall not     be removed except for repairs or for certification and shall be     submitted at least once in ten years to the National Institute     of Standards and Technology for certification. The State     standards shall be used only in verifying the office standards     and for scientific purposes. The Department of General Services     shall, within six months of the effective date of this section,     submit to the chairperson and minority chairperson of the     Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee of the Senate and the     chairperson and minority chairperson of the Agriculture and     Rural Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives a plan     to obtain full National Institute of Standards and Technology     accreditation for the State Metrology Laboratory. Such plan     shall include recommendations to solve the space, facility and     equipment deficiencies of the laboratory.        Cross References.
