§ 15-25-2 - Furnishing consumer reports to child support agency.

SECTION 15-25-2

   § 15-25-2  Furnishing consumer reports tochild support agency. – The department of administration, division of taxation, child supportenforcement agency, is authorized to request consumer reports provided theagency certifies to the credit reporting agency in writing the following:

   (1) The consumer credit report is needed for the purpose ofestablishing an individual's capacity to pay child support or determining theappropriate level of such payments;

   (2) The paternity of the consumer for the child to which theobligation relates has been established or acknowledged by the consumer inaccordance with state laws which the obligation arises;

   (3) The consumer has been given at least ten (10) days priornotice, by certified mail, to the last known address, that the report will berequested and be made available to the consumer; and

   (4) The consumer credit report will be kept confidential,will be used solely for the purpose described in subdivision (1) of thissection and will not be used in connection with any other civil, administrativeor criminal proceeding.
