SECTION 23-18.12-5

   § 23-18.12-5  Violations – Sanctions– Injunctive relief. – The attorney general shall have the power to bring an action in the name of thestate of Rhode Island, and the department through its legal counsel shall havethe power to bring an action in the name of the department in any court ofcompetent jurisdiction for restraining orders and injunctive relief to restrainand enjoin violations or threatened violations of this chapter, or for specificperformance of the obligations of any person under this chapter. Proceedingsunder this chapter shall be instituted and prosecuted in the name of thedepartment, (1) by the attorney general but only upon the request of thedepartment, or (2) by the department through its legal counsel. The superiorcourt shall have the jurisdiction in equity to enforce the provisions of thischapter and any rules or regulations of the department promulgated under thischapter.
