§ 23-33-10 Inspectors authorized toconduct inspections. – Only the chief inspector and/or any of the chief 's compliance inspectorsshall inspect new elevators, and other devices subject to the provisions ofthis chapter in any building within this state, including sidewalk elevatorsand outside wall elevators. Existing elevators and escalators shall beinspected either by the chief or any of his or her compliance inspectors, or byany authorized inspector.
