§ 23-37-2 Penalty for disobedience of orinterference with firefighters. – Any person who shall neglect or refuse to render assistance when lawfullycalled upon to do so by any of the officers listed in § 23-37-1 at a fire,or who shall refuse to obey any lawful order of those officers, or interferewith any officer or person connected with any fire fighting organizationenumerated in § 23-37-1, while on duty at a fire, shall pay for eachoffense a fine not exceeding twenty dollars ($20.00), or shall be imprisonedfor a term of not more than thirty (30) days, either or both, at the discretionof the court.
