§ 23-4.9-1 Retention of x-rays by healthcare providers. – Every physician, surgeon, hospital, health maintenance organization, or anyother health care facility or provider that takes a mammography x-ray of anyindividual within this state shall keep and maintain that mammography x-ray forthe life of the individual. Provided, further, however, that any mammographyx-ray may be destroyed if the individual has had no contact with the physician,surgeon, hospital, health maintenance organization, or other health carefacility or provider for a period exceeding fifteen (15) years.
