SECTION 27-10-9

   § 27-10-9  Investigative and subpoenapowers. – (a) The insurance commissioner shall have the power to examine and investigateinto the affairs of every person engaged in the business of negotiatingadjustments of insurance claims and claims under fidelity and surety bonds.

   (b) The insurance commissioner, upon a hearing, mayadminister oaths, examine and cross examine witnesses, and receive oral anddocumentary evidence, and shall have the power to subpoena witnesses, compeltheir attendance, and require the production of books, papers, records,correspondence, or other documents which the commissioner deems relevant to theinquiry.
